I find myself starting to get into a new routine. My life has changed quite a bit last year. First I had to say good-bye to my fur baby back in April. He lived a good long life, but it was time to say goodbye. You maybe thinking how did that change your routine? Well by the end of his doggie life he required a lot of time and care. There were some nights when he could only be calmed if you sit and hold him, otherwise he would walk around in a circle no matter how tired he was at the time. His doggie Alzheimer was getting to be pretty bad and he wasn’t living as much as he was just existing. So we decided to do the kind thing and have him put to sleep.
Then in August I started a second job, working part time at a local bank. So I decided to hang up selling my artwork at craft fairs, I wasn’t having much success at it anyways and my new schedule just didn’t allow for weekend craft fairs. So now what? Have I given up on art? Nope. I am doing art for the fun of art without worrying about will it sell, will people like it?
Now I am creating art simply because I love art and love to create (Which was something I felt I had gotten away from, I was too focused on will it sell.) I’m taking up art projects that take up more time, because I don’t have to worry about recouping my time . So I am looking forward to a year of Experimenting with my art, and rediscovering a love for art. I’m going to be cataloging my journey here, so join me as I discover new crafts, rediscover old crafts and simply have fun with art, after all isn’t that the whole point of being creative is having fun?
